£40 Million Dairy Plant is Great News for Telford
28th February 2008
The state-of-the-art development at Donnington Wood Business Park, due for completion at the end of this year, is being built by the Austrian firm to produce yoghurts and yoghurt drinks for leading supermarkets.
The first phase will create up to 100 jobs and future expansion will bring a further 400 jobs in the next four to five years, on the 8.6 ha site acquired from national regeneration agency, English Partnerships.
Gerhard Schutzner, President of the NOM Group, spoke proudly at the ceremony saying: “This is a great day for our company, we looked at many different places in the UK but Telford was the obvious choice. Our intention is to become an integral part of the community and the step we have taken today not only puts us at the heart of the town but the UK as a whole for generations to come.”
Telford & Wrekin Mayor Cllr Miles Hosken who was invited to celebrate with NOM, said: “I am delighted to be welcoming yet another international company to the borough and I am sure that they will find it a great place to do business in.”
Sarah Raper, Chief Executive of Transforming Telford, the Economic Regeneration Company added: “This new hi-tech plant will bring new jobs and have a tremendous impact on the economy. This is fantastic news for Telford and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
