Transforming Telford

Sponsored by Transforming Telford, the Shropshire Business Award for Innovation will be presented to a Shropshire based company able to demonstrate a forward thinking approach to creating business success through innovation.

Last year’s winner the Jackloc Company, encourage other small or large innovative companies to enter the 2008 Business Awards.

Chief Executive of Transforming Telford, Sarah Raper said: “We are keen to promote the economic development of the area and by sponsoring the Award for Innovation once again in 2008, we want to highlight Telford’s reputation for encouraging success through innovation.”

“The Jackloc Company impressed the judges with its innovative design for a window and door restrictor and its exciting approach to developing this new business, which has gone on to become a market leader in the hotel sector and is now exporting its products as well”, said Sarah Raper.

Encouraging other similar innovative companies to enter the 2008 Shropshire Business Awards, Managing Director of the Jackloc Company, Deborah Allbutt said: “Winning the 2007 Award for Innovation was very exciting and has really helped us as we promote our business in the UK and overseas”.

Organised by the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and the Shropshire Star, the Olympic themed Awards ceremony takes place on 27 June 2008 at the Telford International Centre and will be hosted by Olympic athlete and TV personality Roger Black MBE.
