Guest speakers introduced by Anne Taylor included Envirowise Regional Advisor Dr Roger Wilson, BESST Chair Andy Whyle from Ricoh and BESST Steering group member Carole Keane from Lyreco.
Envirowise speaker Dr Roger Wilson said, “The true cost of waste is as much as 4% of a company’s turnover. This equates to £1000 per employee in a manufacturing organisation and £200 in an office workplace. By implementing our top 10 tips in your office this can decrease to just 1% per year, a massive saving, what ever business you are in.”
Dr Wilson continued, “Before any senior management team implements a recycling strategy, the company should look at office and manufacturing consumption patterns.
